South Korea visa policy
South Korea’s visa policy is based on your nationality, the purpose of your trip and how long you plan to stay. Some travelers can visit for short stays without a visa, and others may need a K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) approved online before departure. This document is commonly used for tourism, visiting family or friends and certain business activities like meetings.
If you are not eligible for visa free entry or K-ETA, or if your trip involves a longer stay or activities like work or study, you will typically need to apply for the appropriate visa in advance through a Korean consulate. Visitor options generally support tourism and limited business activities, but do not allow paid employment and are not meant for long term residence.
