What is the New Zealand NZeTA?

NZeTA is mandatory for all visa-free foreign nationals, with Australia being the only exception.

The New Zealand Electronic Travel Authorisation (NZeTA) is a digital pre-travel clearance system introduced to enhance border security and streamline entry procedures for visitors from visa-exempt countries.

It is required for eligible individuals visiting New Zealand for tourism, business, short-term study, or transit, and it allows stays of up to 90 day per entry. The NZeTA is valid for two years or until the traveller’s passport expires, whichever comes first.

  • Multiple entries: yes

  • Maximum visit: 90 days
  • Processing time: 48 hours
