Yes, but only remotely for an employer or client based overseas.
You are not allowed to work for a New Zealand-based company or business, work on-site, or any other type of exchange of goods and services.
If you would like to be employed with a local company, you will need to apply for a New Zealand work visa.
You cannot extend a NZeTA. If you need to stay longer, you will have to request a visa.
However, you are allowed to apply for an extension of the visitor visa. If approved, you will be granted a single-entry visa and your previous one will expire immediately.
It is crucial that you leave New Zealand before your NZeTA or visa expire. Otherwise you could be detained or deported, and forbidden from returning to the country in the future.

Yes, everybody traveling to New Zealand must fill out the New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD), including the country's own citizens, as well as visa and NZeTA holders. Each traveler must have their own declaration, including babies and children.
