The Saudi Arabia visa policy has evolved considerably in recent years, with the Kingdom now offering a straightforward online application process for nationals of 66 eligible countries. Citizens of GCC countries can enter visa-free with just a passport or national ID. Russian citizens are also visa-exempt for 90 days in a year, but they still need a visa if they wish to perform Hajj or Umrah. For everyone else, there are two main routes.
Eligible nationals can apply online for the Saudi eVisa before traveling or obtain a visa on arrival at a Saudi port of entry. The eVisa covers tourism, visiting family and friends, and Umrah outside the Hajj season. We always recommend applying online before you travel: it is faster, you skip the queues on arrival, and you arrive with everything already confirmed.
If your nationality is not eligible for the eVisa or visa on arrival, you will need to apply for a consulate visa through the nearest Saudi Arabian embassy before your trip.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival. The permitted duration of stay cannot be extended once you are in the country, so make sure you plan your trip carefully before applying.

No, the Saudi Arabia eVisa cannot be extended. It allows stays of up to 90 days per visit, and once that period is used, you must leave the country. You can re-enter on the same eVisa as long as it remains within its 1-year validity.
If your eVisa expires while you are still in the country, Saudi Arabia offers a grace period to settle any outstanding fines and exit without penalties. Overstaying beyond this window can result in fines and complications for future entries.
The Saudi Arabia entry requirements are:

In terms of cultural regulations, there are a few important things to know before you travel. Public displays of affection are not allowed, and alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited throughout the country with no exceptions for tourists.
Non-Muslims are not permitted to enter Mecca under any circumstances. This restriction is strictly enforced through checkpoints on all roads leading into the city. Medina is open to non-Muslim visitors, but entry into the Prophet's Mosque is strictly forbidden to non-Muslims. Beyond these two cities, the rest of Saudi Arabia is fully open to tourists of all faiths.
The eVisa allows you to perform Umrah but outside of the Hajj season.
It is not allowed to perform Hajj with a tourist visa, in or outside the appropriate season. For that you need a specific visa, which you apply for at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
There isn't a specific dress code in Saudi Arabia. However, modest dress is recommended, especially to visit religious sites.

The Stopover Transit eVisa is available to those looking to extend their stays in Jeddah or Riyadh while on a layover. It allows a single entry of up to 96 hours, without the possibility of extension.
Most foreign travelers are eligible, including those holding a tourist visa for GCC countries, the US, the UK and the Schengen area.

No. Residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries have freedom of movement within Saudi Arabia and may enter just with their national ID instead of a passport.
